Annual Pankhurst Lecture 2019

Equality, diversity, inclusivity and human rights were order of the day at the Annual Pankhurst Lecture 2019.

Presented by the revered Dame Anne Owers, former Chief Inspector of Prisons and now National Chair of the Independent Monitoring Boards, the event hosted by the University of 野狼社区 School of Law took place on February 6th within the auspices of the historic Whitworth Hall.

The School of Law founded the Pankhurst Lecture in 2015 to commemorate Suffragette Christabel Pankhurst’s achievements.

The Pankhurst Lecture is one of the major annual events in the School of Law and shows how far women have come since Christabel Pankhurst graduated with a First Class Law Degree, but was unable to practice as she was a woman.
